The shackles are off,
Divine intervention intervened
During the darkest hours of a man’s
Existence and life prevailed in a song
Of poetic beauty.
Freedom danced through the cotton fields
And chains fell to the floor clattering
A rhythm of ecstasy and joy.
Hungry bellies and thirsty hearts
Grumbled yet beat in a way only god
Could understand.
Jesus walked through the fields that day.
And men was human once more.
